A Playful Paradise Takes Flight: Newmat India Transforms The Bay Club’s Kids Play Area at Jio World Center, BKC.

At Newmat Stretch Ceiling India, we’re passionate about creating spaces that inspire and delight. So, when we were selected to contribute to the Bay Club’s Kids Play area at Jio World Center, BKC, Mumbai., we knew we had to pull out all the stops! Our goal? To design a ceiling that would spark children’s imaginations and create a safe, engaging environment.

Lighting Up Imagination:

The key element? A whimsical “floating cloud” design featuring our innovative translucent stretch ceiling system. This unique material allows light to pass through, creating a soft and even glow thanks to strategically placed Osram LED modules. Here’s the breakdown:

Cool & Bright: 6500K LED modules bathe the space in a cool, refreshing light.

Warm Sunshine: A dedicated 3000K module within the “sun” creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. This thoughtful layout, meticulously tested in our workshop, ensures even illumination throughout the play area.

The Challenge: Design a ceiling that fosters imagination and creates a safe, stimulating environment for young children.

The Solution:  A captivating “floating cloud” design featuring:

  • Translucent Stretch Ceilings: This innovative system from Newmat allows light to pass through, creating a soft and even glow with strategically placed Osram LED modules (6500K for a cool tone and 3000K for a warm sun effect).
  • Lightweight & Easy Care: The stretch material is incredibly thin (only 0.17mm!) and requires minimal maintenance, making it ideal for busy play areas.
  • Whimsical Design: Ten fluffy clouds and a bright sun (totaling 175 sq. ft.) float across the ceiling, sparking children’s imaginations and creating a joyful atmosphere.

A Design Collaboration:

This project wouldn’t have been possible without the fantastic collaboration with the interior contractor. Together, we designed precise wooden frames that seamlessly integrated with Newmat’s innovative PVC ghost wall anchorage profiles. These profiles allowed for the creation of beautiful, curved shapes for the clouds, adding a touch of whimsy to the design.

At Newmat India, safety is our top priority.  All our membranes are fire-rated and 100% recyclable, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for everyone.

The Result:

The final product? A delightful and unforgettable experience for toddlers at Maker Maxity Mall! Ten fluffy clouds and a bright sun now “float” across the ceiling, sparking children’s imaginations and creating a joyful atmosphere.
